JOURNEY's 'Revelation' Headed For Top 10 U.S. Debut
June 8, 2008According to Hits Daily Double (the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS),JOURNEY's new album, "Revelation", is poised to sell around 80,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release for a likely Top 10 (possibly Top 5) debut on The Billboard 200 chart.
The European version of "Revelation" includes an exclusive original bonus track entitled "Let It Take You Back".
A three-disc "Revelation" CD and DVD package is being sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in North America.
The first disc consists of 11 re-recorded classics, the second is filled with 11 new songs, and the third is a live, in-concert DVD. All of the music on "Revelation" was produced by Kevin Shirley (who previously worked with JOURNEY on their platinum-certified "Trial By Fire" album).
"Revelation" is the first JOURNEY album to feature the angelic voice of Arnel Pineda. Guitarist Neal Schon says about him, "We feel reborn. I think there's a lot of chemistry between the five of us. The new stuff sounds tremendous. Everyone's so stoked about it. We feel very fortunate to have found Arnel."
"Arnel brings a soulful and passionate voice to JOURNEY," continues keyboardist Jonathan Cain. "His personality is very well-suited to our music. He's a sincere, authentic person with a great smile and a big heart. I think fans are really going to love him. With Arnel's soaring tenor, JOURNEY returns to our heritage sound."
JOURNEY kicks off a series of UK dates on June 17 London in London at the Apollo Hammersmith. They'll hit the road in the U.S. with HEART and CHEAP TRICK on July 9 in Englewood, Colorado at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre.
JOURNEY performed its classic song "Separate Ways" on the May 28 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". Watch the footage below.
